Why Magis?

“Magis” is the Latin for “more.”

Magis refers to the idea of doing more for Christ, and therefore doing more for others. It is an expression of aspiration and inspiration. It relates to forming the ideal society centered on Jesus Christ. Magis comes from ad majorem Dei gloriam, a Latin phrase meaning “for the greater glory of God“, the motto of the Society of Jesus.

When we hear the word “more” we often think that we need to do more things. While this does not require ourselves to do “more work” we are called to do “more” as a way to live out the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.

At Magis Consulting Group, LLC, we are here to help guide you and ensure you have a strategic plan to do more for your parish community! Reach out to us today to learn more how we can work together for the greater glory!

Meet our Founder

Dr. Megan Lowes-Bolin:

Founder & Executive Director

Hello everyone!

I’m Megan, the proud Founder & Executive Director of Magis Consulting Group, LLC.

Let me share a bit about myself. I’ve been a cradle Catholic and have been educated in Catholic schools from kindergarten all the way to doctoral studies. Cleveland is my hometown, and I pursued my undergraduate studies at John Carroll University, majoring in Marketing and Business Logistics. After graduation, I found myself working with the Catholic Church, which eventually led to a rewarding 10+ year career.

During my time in ministry, I’ve immersed myself in various roles, from youth ministry and marketing to organizing service opportunities, fostering parishioner engagement, and much more. I like to think that I’ve covered every aspect of lay work in the Church (except for music ministry, which is my husband’s expertise).

Why work with me? I bring extensive experience, having worked with both small and very large parishes, and I excel at developing and implementing ministry programs, from adapting to the post-COVID world to rebuilding communities after school closures.

I’m excited about the prospect of collaborating with you to envision and strategize ways to strengthen the Catholic Church!
